Take a few hours for yourself and learn the gentle and calming craft of hand embroidery onto felt. These hand stitched robin decorations (approximately 7 x 9cm) are a delightful way to introduce yourself to hand stitching. We’re big fans of Corinne Lapierre’s design and sell her books and kits instore. We’re therefore delighted to offer one of her embroidery projects as a workshop.

The workshop is an ideal introduction to hand embroidery, which is a wonderfully portable and absorbing craft. As long as you can thread a needle, we’ll teach you the rest. A complete kit of materials which is made in the UK is provided as part of the workshop and as a pre-Christmas bonus, we’ll also give you extra materials so you can make another 2 robins at home later. Maybe keep one and gift the other two to special friends? (We’ve just seen another of Corinne’s workshops elsewhere selling for £30 - hurrah for Hometown, as we like to keep our workshops as affordable as possible).

During the morning, we’ll be exploring different stitches to decorate your felt and we’ll show you how to construct the bird. As everyone stitches at different speeds, even if you don’t have your robin finished during the class, you’ll have all the instructions to complete it at home. Hand sewn.

Materials: * supplied as part of the course fee

• * Kit containing wool felt, embroidery threads, needle, toy stuffing and stitch guide

• Small thread scissors / fabric scissors if you have them, if not we have plenty for you to borrow

• Needle Threader (optional - bring if you use one)

• Thimble (optional - bring if you use one)
  

Refreshments will be provided. All students can buy any haberdashery they might need and will also enjoy a 10% discount on any Corinne Lapierre kits they buy on the day.
