WE LOVE FABRIC

Welcome to HOMETOWN and come right on in!

We're a specialist quilt store, just round the corner from the ancient cathedral and castle in historic Rochester.

We stock more than 1800 cotton and linen fabrics from Dashwood, Dear Stella, Figo, Lewis & Irene, Liberty of London, Makower, Moda, Ruby Star Society, Sevenberry and many others.

Add to this - wadding, threads, quilting accessories, lampshade kits, haberdashery, textile books and an eclectic range of home accessories. We're definitely the most colourful shop in Rochester!

Founded by Marion Haslam in in 2008, we moved to a larger shop in 2013 and doubled our size. The store is a light, bright, inspirational space, welcoming stitchers old and new.

We also sell online - woo hoo! So even more ways to enjoy and buy our products…

Inspiration is everywhere...

Here at Hometown, we believe inspiration can strike at any point - whether it's in the shop, out and about on days off, or on the walk to work. You can see what inspires Marion on a daily basis on our Instagram page - simply click the link at the bottom of any page.

Good to know! As we’re busy in the shop, we prioritise quick updates on Facebook and Instagram rather than emails to our mailing list;  so come and be social with us and keep tabs on special offers and events which can be quite spontaneous!

WE LOVE TO SEW

WE LOVE TO SEW

At HOMETOWN we hold fun and friendly workshops throughout the year. From bite sized classes on making your own lampshade to complete courses on quiltmaking, plus wreaths, dressmaking and book binding. Our classes welcome beginners and experienced stitchers and crafters.

All current class schedules are now shown on the Shop page, where you can also book online. For quilt eye candy of some of our previous workshops, head to the Workshop Gallery page.

All of our classes are held in our spacious workshop at the shop (Sorry, due to the stairs the workshop area is not accessible to wheelchair users).
