PRIVACY POLICY
With the introduction of new GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) in 2018, we'd like to clarify what data Hometown requires, keeps and processes about you.
For students booking on courses, we record your name, address, phone number and email. This is so we can process your booking and send you workshop confirmation from your online booking and any class notes before, during or after the course, either by post or by email (via Outlook).
If you wish to pay for workshops by phone, or using our deposit scheme, we ask for your phone number for payment processing by Zettle/PayPal. Please note that we do not need to ask for your card details, as we will send you a payment link by text (SMS) in order for you to pay.
For customers purchasing online, we print and keep a copy of your order in order to fulfil the order. You will also receive a paper copy of the order in the package. We file orders for 12 months and then they are securely destroyed.
Our Loyalty Card is offered to all customers (instore and online) spending £15 on qualifying products (there are certain product exclusions, such as gift voucher purchases and reduced sale products). No registration is needed and there is no time limit for collecting stamps. The Loyalty Card is kept by the customer. Once the card is full, it is dated and is valid for 2 months. Full Loyalty Cards are invalid if not used by the 2 month deadline. It can be redeemed against fabrics/books/patterns/jigsaws and we ask for a signature to invalidate the card when you redeem it.
For all credit/debit card and Apple/Google pay purchases in-store, your transaction is processed by Zettle/PayPal. Paper copies of all receipts are offered to customers, even for contactless payments. Online card transactions are processed by Stripe or Paypal. Our financial records are kept securely according to time frames set by HMRC for tax and VAT records and then destroyed.
Copies of our Privacy Policy are available to read in-store at Hometown, 62 High Street, Rochester, Kent ME1 1JY.
