Amara Vest Top
Amara Vest Top
Sunday 15 November 10.30am-4.00pm
Tutor: Mel Forrest
Level - confident beginners / intermediate - 6 places
Have you made a few garments and would like to level-up your sewing by working with a new fabric? Then this class is perfect! Come along and learn to sew with boiled wool, and make yourself a cosy boxy vest top to keep you toasty all winter long. No-one makes just one Amara (Mel has already made 3 and Marion is on number 2). As they are quick to sew and don't require much yardage, they also make brilliant gifts for all ages, so you’ll be able to rustle up several more for Christmas gifts.
Amara is a brilliant garment to sew as its relaxed shape and fit make this top a winter saviour for all body shapes. The class will include your own copy of the Tessuti paper pattern to keep. You’ll trace off the size you make on the day to preserve the pattern for future use. Other skills covered include: how to read patterns and choosing sizes, tracing and cutting a paper pattern, using a pattern layplan, following grainlines, and sewing exposed seams. Machine sewn.
(Note our boiled wool comes in 6 stunning colours, is 100% wool and is available instore and online. It’s well priced at £24/ as we’ve seen the same product elsewhere at £30+/m). New autumn deliveries are due in Sept/Oct.
