Every stitcher needs a needle case to keep their pins and needles tidy and to hand. And it’s even nicer if you’ve made it yourself. At Hometown we’re big fans of Corinne Lapierre’s work and sell her books and kits instore. We’re therefore delighted to offer one of her embroidery projects as a workshop.

The workshop is an ideal introduction to hand embroidery, which is a wonderfully portable and absorbing craft. As long as you can thread a needle and do a running stitch, we’ll teach you the rest (but we can also show you these skills too…). A complete kit of materials is provided as part of the workshop.

During the morning, we’ll be exploring different stitches to decorate your cover and we’ll show you how to construct the needlecase. As everyone stitches at different speeds, even if you don’t have your needle case finished during the class, you’ll have all the instructions to complete it at home+. Hand sewn.

+Please note: if you wish to carry on stitching (unsupervised) after a lunch break, our workshop will be available until 3pm at no extra charge.

Materials: * supplied as part of the course fee

• * Kit containing wool felt, embroidery threads, needle and stitch guide

• Small thread scissors / fabric scissors if you have them, if not we have plenty for you to borrow

• Needle Threader (optional - bring if you use one)

• Thimble (optional - bring if you use one)
  

Refreshments will be provided. All students will be able to buy more felt and embroidery thread if they want to make more needle cases at home, plus they’ll get a 10% discount on any Corinne Lapierre kits they buy on the day.
