Does modern life sometimes leave you fuming !$*%{~? Do you sometimes have a Malcolm Tucker / Miriam Margolyes moment? There’s plenty in recent times worth commenting on. Join us on this liberating, fun workshop and you can let rip with some hand embroidery. It’s an ideal way to end the week and the finished hoops make perfect presents for that hard-to-buy-for friend.

Mel will show you how to commit your thoughts to stitch and you’ll create a lovely hooped embroidery to hang on your wall. You could choose a favourite phrase from your granny, or we’re sure we can brainstorm something for you. Your phrase doesn’t have to be saucy or sweary - it’s completely up to you!

This is meant to be a light-hearted class for adults - please don’t book if you might be offended by a student stitching something stronger than ‘crikey’. The course fee includes a wooden embroidery hoop, thread and a glass of vino to get your creative juices flowing.

Materials: * supplied as part of the course fee

• * 6-in/15cm wooden circular embroidery hoop

• 1 fat quarter of cotton fabric - light coloured fabrics with small patterns work well

• Thread - *stranded embroidery thread is provided. Or you can use cotton perle No.8 thread in a colour that will contrast to your fabric

• Sharps/embroidery needle with a large enough eye to accommodate your choice of thread

• Small pair of scissors

• Clover water or air erasable fabric pen

• Thimble (optional)

• 23cm square of felt (any colour, but white/light works well) to finish the back of your hoop (optional)

Refreshments will be provided. If there is anything you are missing or you’d just like to browse our shelves(!), the shop will be open to students during the class.
