Cat person? Dog lover? Maybe both? We have you covered whatever your preference. At Hometown we’re big fans of Corinne Lapierre’s work and sell her books and wool felt kits instore. We’re therefore delighted to offer her embroidery projects as workshops. In this class you can choose to stitch either a cat or a dog decoration.

This workshop is an ideal introduction to hand embroidery, which is a wonderfully portable and absorbing craft. As long as you can thread a needle, we’ll teach you the rest. All materials are provided as part of the workshop. Please add CAT or DOG next to your name when booking, so we can prepare the correct kit for the workshop. Students will also be able to purchase an additional kit for £10 to take home if they wish.

During the class, we’ll be exploring different stitches to decorate your felt animals. The finished cat/dog can be used as a decoration, such as on a door handle or on a keyring (I have a cat on my car keys)! As everyone stitches at different speeds, even if you don’t have your animal finished during the afternoon, you’ll have all the instructions to complete it at home. Hand sewn.

* note 10-16 year olds should be accompanied by an adult also booking onto this course

Materials and equipment required:

• Scissors and needles are provided as part of the workshop fee, as well as all the kit materials.

• Please bring along your thimble if you use one for hand sewing

Refreshments will be provided. All students will be able to buy more felt and embroidery thread if they want to make more animals at home, plus they’ll get a 10% discount on any other Corinne Lapierre kits or books they buy on the day.
