When we choose fabric collections that are made for each other, it makes sense to display them together. These two gorgeous floral collections, Verdure by Esther Fallon Lau and Secret Garden by Katy Hackney are a breath of spring air.

Esther is a self-taught indie surface pattern designer. Her work is inspired by nature, folktales and her multicultural upbringing. The mere thought of designing vintagey florals, birds and animals, is enough to make her lose sleep. Esther delights in giving an off-beat twist to on-trend themes, creating whimsical patterns that are enjoyed by kids and adults alike. Her signature style uses a combination of watercolour, ink work and textural overlays to give a rich, organic, hand-drawn feel. love combining collections for an even more vibrant quilt.

Designed by Katy Hackney, Secret Garden explores the flora and fauna of an enchanted garden behind an old stone wall. With a nod to the botanical and a pleasing palette of lavender, ivory and stone, this elegant collection will make classic quilts and charming garments.

The common colour palette of pinks, and blue and the variety of scales would look great combined with Twist (some of which are shown here) or Solids.

These collections are priced and sold by the quarter metre (equivalent price £15-17.00/m depending on the design). We’ll automatically cut a long quarter, but if you’d prefer a fat quarter, just tick the prompt box when ordering.

Larger quantities are always cut as a continuous length. So for 50cm, add a quantity of 2 to your basket; for 1 metre, add 4; for 2 metres, add 8 and so on.
