Each winter our soft brushed fabrics (aka flannels) are really popular for winter dressmaking, Christmas tree skirts and stockings. These checked flannels are also ideal for oversized shirts and shackets. They also make a super cosy backing for a lap quilt for an older person or for a snuggle quilt for the sofa.

Columbia flannels are 90% polyester 10% wool, but feel like a cotton flannel and are nice and wide 150cm / 60-in wide).

Columbia is priced and sold in quarter metre lengths (Equivalent price is £11.00/m). You’ll need about 75cm (3 units) for one generous size stocking.

Longer lengths are cut as one continuous length, so for 1/2 metre, add a quantity of 2 to your basket; for 1 metre, add 4; for 2 metres, add 8 and so on.
