WE LOVE FABRIC

Welcome to HOMETOWN and come right on in! We're a specialist quiltmaking and haberdashery store, in Rochester's historic high street, just round the corner from the ancient cathedral and castle. Specialising in cotton and linen, we stock more than 1800 fabrics from Dashwood, Dear Stella, Makower, Moda, Robert Kaufman, Stof, Timeless Treasures and many others. Since 2016, we are also starting to sell heavier weight cottons suitable for home furnishing projects.

Add to these ten types of cosy quilt wadding, threads, quilting accessories, lampshade kits and general haberdashery, specialist textile books and an eclectic range of home accessories and gifts. We're definitely the most colourful shop in Rochester!

Opening in 2008, we moved to a larger shop, just a few doors down in 2013 and doubled the space available for fabrics. The store is a light, bright and inspirational space, welcoming sewers old and new, so come and visit us soon!

THINGS WE LOVE

THINGS WE LOVE

inspiration is everywhere...

Here at Hometown, we believe inspiration can strike at any point - whether it's at the kitchen sink, on days off and out-and-about, or on the walk to work in Rochester. You can see what inspires us on a daily basis on our Instagram page - @hometown_in_rochester - simply click the link at the bottom of any page. As we’re busy in the shop, we prioritise updates on Facebook and Instagram more often than the website;  so come and be social with us!
